My long-term research goal is to improve the resistance of crops to abiotic stresses, in particular to low water availability and chilling temperatures. To reach this aim, in my lab we combine genomics, synthetic biology and plant physiology with particular emphasis of photosynthesis research. I aim to scale from the level of gene to cell, from leaf to whole plant and the performance of crops in the field.
