The Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes faculty members (includes all instructional appointments) who have a primary teaching appointment in the Department of Biochemistry and have demonstrated outstanding teaching and instructional activity within the last three years.
Criteria for Eligibility:
All faculty members with a primary teaching appointment in the Department of Biochemistry at UNL are eligible unless they have received this award within the previous 3 years. We also accept nominations for team teaching.
Nominations for The Excellence in Teaching Award
The Excellence in Research Award recognizes pre-tenure or tenured faculty members who have a primary appointment in the Department of Biochemistry and have demonstrated outstanding research within the last three years.
Criteria for Eligibility:
Any faculty member with a primary appointment in the Department of Biochemistry;
Candidates are not recipients of any research awards in the last three years*.
Nominations for The Excellence in Research Award
Excellence in Staff Performance Award is to recognize non-tenure track faculty and employees who have demonstrated outstanding performance in service to the Department of Biochemistry within the last three years.
Criteria for Eligibility:
Any employees who are non-tenure track faculty (e.g., managerial/professional/office/service staff) who provide services to the Department of Biochemistry;
Candidates are not award recipients in the last two years.
Nominations for Excellence in Staff Performance Award
The Outstanding Graduate Research in Biochemistry Award recognizes biochemistry graduate students who have demonstrated outstanding research during their PhD program.
Criteria for Eligibility:
Any biochemistry graduate students in the Center for Biological Chemistry Graduate Program are eligible.
Candidates are not previous recipients of this award.
Candidates graduating in May of this year are not eligible.
Candidates can be self-nominated or nominated by their peers and Biochemistry faculty.
Nominations for Outstanding Graduate Research in Biochemistry Award
The Biochemistry High Impact Student Award recognizes undergraduate biochemistry students for outstanding contributions to the Department through leadership, teaching, or outreach.
Criteria for Eligibility
Any biochemistry undergraduate major with a sophomore class standing at end of the spring award term (53 credit hours or higher).
Cumulative GPA of 3.5.
Eligible to apply in junior/senior year.
Student who has not previously received this award.
