Taking apart the family radio has helped generations of budding engineers learn. Now, a University of Nebraska-Lincoln team is giving future biologists the gift of tinkering. They’re developing educational tools to help the next generation of biologists better understand complex biological systems and to prepare them for a rapidly changing research field.

NSF Science 360 News features the video (http://news.science360.gov/archives/20160325) about Dr. Tomas Helikar (Biochemistry) and Dr. Joseph Dauer (Life Science Education) and the transformative life sciences simulation tools that was produced for the 2015 University Research Report.
