Financial Support
All students
in the program are supported by an assistantship that includes a
stipend of at least $19,000 annually. In addition, the Department
pays the Tuition and the Health Insurance benefits for all students
with assistantships, so the estimated cost of living for students
in the Program is approximately $8,000 for the academic year (~$12,000
annually). Several supplementary scholarships and fellowships ranging
from $1,000 to $7,000 are awarded each year on a competitive basis
to both currently enrolled and incoming graduate students. Upon
admittance to Ph.D. candidancy, the stipend is increased by $1000.
