Graduate Student Orientation
A
Graduate Program Subcommittee is responsible for guiding you through
your initial coursework and research rotation choices. This Committee
organizes an orientation for incoming students during August of
each year to ensure that you understand the Program procedures and
expectations. This orientation will begin on the Monday before classes
start. You will receive information about the University of Nebraska,
the Graduate School, and life in Lincoln. You will then have a guidance
interview with the Graduate Program Subcommittee to learn about
the program in Biochemistry. This meeting will help you choose courses
for the first semester and advise you about the registration process.
Finally, presentations by each faculty member about their research
will give you an overview of the active research areas in Biochemistry
and help you think about choosing a research mentor (thesis advisor).
