Lincoln
The UNL campus is located in downtown Lincoln, a moderately sized but rapidly growing city of 250,000. As the capitol city of Nebraska, Lincoln enjoys all the benefits of a thriving metropolis, yet retains a friendly demeanor.
The city of Lincoln has much to offer! The UNL City Campus is located near the state capitol, several museums, movie theaters and the Lied Center for the Performing Arts. Also nearby are the components of a thriving sports community:
- Memorial Stadium: the ~80,000-seat home of the University of Nebraska Husker football team
- Pershing Center: home of the Lincoln Capitols, an arena league football team, as well as performances by national recording artists, car shows, you name it
- Haymarket Park: home of the Saltdogs, our minor league baseball team
- The Ice Box: home of the Stars, our AHL hockey team
The newly renovated historic Haymarket district boasts coffee shops with character, Lincoln's own Microbrewery, an ethnically diverse array of restaurant cuisines, antique stores, gift shops, a Farmer's Market and a busy night life.
We present here some highlights of life in Lincoln, but check the Lincoln Conventions and Visitors Bureau web site for a more extensive listing.
